Anyone else out there growing Aunt Ada's see this yet? ~~~ The main stem grows tall and near the 5 foot height mark - roughly - the stem looks like there should have been 2 or 3 seperate stems? I don't have a digital camara so it will take me a little while to take a picture of it. I have noticed some VERY LARGE flowers as well. So far the fruits are not overly large - yet -These flowers look almost like sunflowers in shape I have NEVER seen anything like either of these...conditions?? Very "strong" looking fruits! Thick, heavy fruit/flower stems. Easy to spot to

I cannot compare, but Yeah Ada! Sounds like she left behind a winner so far! DirtPit sent me news his Ada's are struggling in the heat and dry conditions he's having, but everything else in his garden is, too. The Israeli that got some seed had to abandon her garden with the recent troubles in her country, but reported they were excellant looking plants as well. She hopes that they'll be ripe when she is able to return. My own set of 6 were destroyed by the dog catastrophe in May. I reseeded most of the varieties I had, but didn't want to chance my remaining seeds, setting them off 2 months behind schedule didn't make sense. Elfie drove all the way up to my home to give me a cutting. She gave her three seedlings to an award-winning grower near her, as she didn't want failure. Well, with recent home life, I didn't baby it and it didn't root. I still haven't told her about it. There's always next year, but everyone who gets a mature fruit off of their plants will already be 365 days ahead of me, well on their way to having an adapted, tailor-made tomato variety suited to their growing conditions.

Well...amazingly enough these Ada plants are doing some weird things! Good but weird. I have 4 that are almost 7 ft. with some fruit that look a bit like baseballs. I have 4 that are only 3 ft. with fruit that are cherry type - so far and I have 4 that are about 6 ft. with fruit that look like they will be flattened and ribbed. All fruit is still green so no taste test yet I did have to take 2 fruits off the stems due to blossom end rot and one had that and it split from stem to stern But so far those are the only 2 out of 16 plants. The plants with the flat, ribbed fruit look like they may be small beefsteak types ~ fist size. The baseball ones~round and very smooth are the size of Connor's fist and a couple are ripening up nicely now. The cherry size fruit....I am just hoping and really think they will get bigger given time. I had some seed set aside to send to msdixie from this forum but I haven't heard from her so those seed will be saved and planted next season unless you need some Loamy~ Well...I guess that's it for my report. Hope all is going well in everyone's garden
